Two New Dealers for American Tug on the East Coast and in Europe

The builders of the popular American Tug, Tomco Marine Group, Inc., have announced two new dealers for the Northeast of the United States and Europe. Prestige Yacht Sales in Connecticut and Nelson Marine Tugs in Denmark will now be marketing and selling the American Tug 34, 41 and the new American Tug 49 Limited.

Prestige Yacht Sales, with offices in Stamford and Westbrook Connecticut, is celebrating its 18th year in boat sales and is now adding the American Tug to its line of cruising yachts and sailboats. Michael Frank, the President of Prestige Yacht Sales said “The American Tug has already found a following in the Northeast. We have watched the fleet of smart looking American Tugs and their owners cruising Long Island Sound and New England. This is a line of well made yachts that our customers will enjoy”.

Prestige Yacht Sales has two American Tugs currently being completed by Tomco Marine Group in La Conner, Washington. Both will be specially equipped for the Northeast including the new flybridge option. Prestige Yacht Sales will be presenting the American Tugs at the Spring Newport Boat Show and at the Norwalk and Fall Newport Boat Shows. In addition, Prestige Yacht Sales will be coordinating owner’s events, seminars and a rendezvous for the American Tug owners. “When we looked at the Amercian Tug community we found a group of dedicated owners that enjoy meeting and sharing their experiences with other American Tug owners.” according to Michael Frank. Prestige Yacht Sales plans to have their first American Tug owner events set for the 2008/2009 boating season.

Across the Atlantic, Nelson Marine Tugs and Ole Berg has signed up to represent American Tugs in the European Union. Based in Rungsted Harbor, Denmark’s largest marina located 20 km north of Copenhagen, with planned subsidiaries in Germany and Mediterranean France, Nelson Marine Tugs will focus solely on marketing, sales, and service of the 34 foot, 41 foot and the new 49 foot American Tugs.

Ole Berg has a keen eye for details, particularly excellent workmanship and design, with forethought for safety and convenience. He found those qualities in the American Tug, a boat he feels will be ideal for the many owners and families he has helped over the years. The same attributes that Ole Berg recognized are what have made the American Tug line of yachts successful in the North American market seen since their introduction seven years ago.

Semi-displacement trawlers are virtually unknown in the European market, apart from limited numbers of Grand Banks yachts; however, with rising oil prices, the fuel efficiency of the American Tug offers the potential for great success in this new market.

Tom Nelson, the president of Tomco Marine Group, said “It is with great pleasure that we welcome both Prestige Yacht Sales in the Northeast and Nelson Marine Tugs in Europe to the American Tug family.”

American Tugs were recently presented in Europe for the first time by Nelson Marine Tugs at the Copenhagen International Boat Show 2008. The Copenhagen International Boat Show is one of the most popular boat shows in Northern Europe.
